The Dura Ace one has been fine for me. Remains in the garage though, I never take it out with me and no cunt's borrowing it.

Can't you get a chainwhip that's actually just a spanner ? I'm sure I saw one recently.
I've got a cheapo ebay job, cost about 8 quid and was long enough to get a good crank on the lockring that its not come loose yet, probably 18 months. -

Trixie isn't a chainwhip.
The Dura Ace item is a chainwhip and lockring spanner in one unit.
If you're talking about adding a 15mm spanner to it, I personally don't see the point. -

Ah, it appears there are two types;
This one with the rubber handle
and this one with the spring and two pieces of chain
I have the latter. Can't recall what I paid for it, probably £30 or so from Condor about 7 years ago. Looks like both types can still be found for ~$50 here. No idea why anybody would pay over £100 for one.

The only chainless chainwhip is the forged 3Rensho/EAI copy tool and only works up to 15T cogs. And is £110 on Hubjub
I have a 3Rensho one. And the DA :)
And no fixed gear bikes :( -

Another +1 for the Velo Solo one. The one called "Combined Chain Whip and Lockring Tool" at http://www.velosolo.co.uk/shoptool.html priced at £14.95. It's great and has loads of leverage.
