i brake instead of skid, i think it feels more comfortable.

As do I when I run a brake, it's much more sensible.

Being a Northerner I don't skid or brake anymore. I just walk to work with the bike on the shoulder.

Saves on the rubber after all. How else do I afford my whippets and flat caps?

I've been riding fixed for five months and it has only just dawned on me that the reason why pedestrians freeze in the middle of zebra crossings as I approach is because they don't think I'm going to stop.

I never understood that. If you don't think someone is going to stop, move out of the way or you will probably get hit.

Oh no he's not going to brake, let's stand still in the middle of the road and wait for him to hit me!
