Bradley would have to get some of his track weight back on before tackling the classics. Lightweight riders don't do well over cobbles, and P-R especially is about that, powering your way over ropey surfaces. A race for hard men. Is Wiggins hard? Hmm

My limited, second or third hand, zero-experience-of knowledge lends me to believe that to go over mountains quickly you need to be little and light, or have a jet engine strapped on. To keep the power down and the bike planted over cobbles you need more mass, which is why Cancellara can shoot away from better, lighter climbers on the short, stabby and cobbley climbs of Flanders.

Cancellara shoots away because of his motorised bicycle and beautiful legs, not because he is fat.

Being fast aint about muscle.
It's about getting a load of oxygen in and getting it to the legs, and using it.
