It's a late 80s steel trek 1000
good luck with the sale dude. someone should snap this up i reckon
Hi all,
I've had this stored away for a while and I'd just like it gone now!
It's a late 80s alloy trek 1000, suntour groupset drivechain, dia compe brakes, sansim hubs, basically fully japanese parts! Frame size is 56cm. This thing is from the very late 80s and looks like it's done maybe 800 miles since new as regarding wear of the parts?
I did want to get it going again but I simply don't have the time. I have the original wheels with it but the rear wheel is absolutely smashed, the rim has came to bits and it's got a giant kink in it and a crack, plus the wheel is shaped like a banana, the only usable part is the hub, a few spokes, rim-tape, tube and tyre.
Front wheel is absolutely perfect.
This bike is 100% original, tbh doesn't actually look like it's been used that much. It does have a few very very small scratches but you can see they are from storage. It's been sat for a long time so it's greasy and dusty, it could really benefit with a strip down and clean.
What you need to get this bike going again:
. pedals
. chain
. rear rim + spokes
. new bar tape
Now I've put this bike as offered as I have no idea what it's worth, I've trawled the net and trying to track down a price is proving to be difficult. I did think of posting in the how much is this worth thread but I find waiting a week or so to get a reply a little tedious, I'd like to find out a little more about the bike and how much it's worth please :)
Excuse the 1.30am photos..

Looks like that once built up. I'd actually say this is the same condition as the one above.
