Rolland retired 20km after the start, due to a tendinitis...
The rider shouldn't have competed on the grounds of concerns for his health,
moreover his team is part of a new self regulatory body MPCC : Mouvement for a credible cyclism(guffaw),
which specifies that in those cases riders wouldn't start.
The team's doctor, head coach, and manager were all aware of this and still got him on the start.
His condition can be triggered by the use of corticoids.
His team was recently the subject of an enquiry about the alleged use of transfusions and corticoids.
The case was dropped
Charteau in 2012, same team ,didn't start a 4 days race due to a freakish blood test result
