For Sale: Mavic 520 track hubs to Mavic CXP30 rims wheelset

Hi,
For sale I've got some lovely Mavic 520 track hubs in great condition with lock ring, laced to Mavic CXP30s (clinchers) which have been destickered. They are 28h front and back. - tyres tubes and cog are not included. If you're after something abit classier than goldtecs or phil these are the ones.

The hubs and rims are in great condition and roll forever.

Hubs alone go for about £50 each https://www.lfgss.com/thread95982.html so get em built up to some nice rims with a lock ring for £165

yep, currently got 2 people interested in the wheels if I'm shipping. Going to package them up and find out a cost over the weekend and will get back to everyone and see who is interested.

got a box together, will take it to the post office on monday and find out postage costs

ah mavic 520 the hard to find part(at least for me that is) first timer here

what size (threading) rear hub do these take ? im building a gitane profile track bike and these are in the catalog specs.

the front hub on my bike is a 86.5mm and so far very hard to find.

The hub, I believe, has normal thread on the cog, but the lockring is a funny frenchie one. Can anyone confirm?

The cog threading is standard, I was running a surly cog and yes they use a french lock ring.

Skully, the lockring threading is the same as Maillard/Atom/Normany/Milremo earlier hubs... Mavic lockring is an alloy beauty

i understand there sold , im trying to get out of the nursery with these post . was wondering on the threads. i have the rear hub . was wondering what to buy for the cog . thanks guys you answered my question on the cog and lockring.will be ebaying tonight to get what i need for the rear . now the front is a different story altogether. very hard to find in a track version . and the specs call for a dura ace 7500 cranck and french bb . ive been looking and ouch on the prices . but this bike is so different than a reg track bike . thanks....don

Which frame do you have?

Mavic track hubs came in 80 & 100mm so your 86.5 puzzles me.

You can convert a Mavic front road hub to track by tapping the aluminium axle.

the frame is a gitane profile s . you can go to the catalog section of our website gitaneusa. click on 80's and its the first french 1980 catalog . the pic of it is on the left the write up and some specs are on the right . i took a set of digital calipers and it measured 86.5. i have the road version toowhich also takes a 86.5 . i bought a 86.5 last week and just got it . i didnt know if i could tap it , not much room for error it would be real tight .plus i would need a extra set of the allen bolt fasteners. when i get full membership ill post a couple pics.i also have a delta wing track bike. its bronze chromed and was set up for a show bike might be the bronze medal bike in the 1000m la 84 olympics, but trying to confirm that.

All you need are 6mm x 1 tapered and bottoming taps, and it takes about 5 minutes

The bolts are standard and cost pennies at a hardware store.

The correct domed washers are 6 quid a pair ordered from an authorized Mavic dealer.

Or you may be able to find something similar elsewhere.

I'll probably never be able to buy another cheap front hub again.

wow , i can still get the correct washers ? cool . i figured mavic would have changed to something else after all these years. im trying to do a restore so i want the correct look. thank you so much for the info.
