• As I have very little time these days I have to be realistic and I am not going to be able to restore this frame so it is up for sale.

    £70 or nearest offer??
I've tried researching the frame A LOT but haven't been able to pin it down exactly.

Its original colour seems to be metallic red, it has lovely lugs and a unique looking seat stay, seat clamp junction.

    The seat post is 27.2mm.

The dropouts are stamped with BREV CAMPAGNOLO vertical and seem to be the 1010/1 type http://campagnolo.wikispaces.com/Dropouts

The numbers 1617 are stamped into the bottom bracket and it has 3x cable guides along the top tube with mudguard eyelets.

It seems that the head tube panel, was gold and it has a large band of gold on the seat tube. There is some remanence of blue transfers on parts of the gold and on the fork. It also has had at some point braze ons on the down tubes...

The red is a darkish metallic red which is the first colour the bike was. I have stripped more paint off and I have drawn up what I think it looked like as a frame when it was red.

Dimensions wise it is as follows:

22" Seat tube (centre of BB to top of top tube)
22" Top tube (centre of headtube to centre of seat post)

I wish I had the time for this as its got some really nice details.

  • I have looked into it being a raleigh but the serial number is wrong and I can't see any ref to Raleigh's with fastback seat stays

  • my raleigh panasonic has fast back seat stays, if that helps any.

  • Never seen a brake bridge like that before.
