I assume you'll be brakeless?
If so I can highly recommend the 'race clinchers' as a very sturdy and light wheelset for the money, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything better for the money, new or second hand.
I'd say ALL black components is the way to go.

These bad boys with the code on the forum will be the best you can get for the money. If your riding this soley on the track go for the tubs. Also go for all black kit. 3T stuff if you want some white accents in there. -

I've been riding my V Sprints for a couple of months now and I have no complaints, decent wheels for the price.

Good times, thanks! I'll be using it on the road primarily but am definitely up for giving the track a go at some point. Clinchers all the way for the moment though.
If nothing really special comes up on here in the next 10 days, I'll order some before I head back. I'm thinking 30mm unmachined rims on the Miche hubs, radially laced front. All black.I'll be keeping an eye out for some black track drops and/or risers. Any hot tips on a black crank set?

Sorry Indra, I somehow missed your comment. I'll take a look, thanks.

So for your 35 beans you're getting a lower spoke count and better quality spokes, right? Is it a different rim?

Hey guy, did you end up making it to any Bike Ride Society rides on Thursday nights or Critical Mass rides on the Friday?
Met a few Thomases with accents in the last bit

They are better rims, lighter wheelset in all. A bit more competition/speed over durability. Pretty sure you can desticker them if you really want to. A depends on how much you want to spend, good wheels make a good frame great.

I'm not looking to penny pinch. I'm pretty sold on the race clinchers. I'm not going to ruin the build with crap/inferior components if I can help it. I can certainly spare £35 for a markedly superior wheelset.

Omniums?
I just picked up a pair of Deda track drops from harold.
Still waiting on the frame.
So, after 3 months on the wrong side of the Atlantic, I'm heading back to London. There'll be a Track Champ frameset waiting for me upon my arrival to take the sting out of returning to real life. I've wanted one for a while for purely aesthetic reasons.
It's the white version with black carbon Alpina straight forks. So I'm thinking of just going for solely black and white components (ok, mostly black if I can help it) so I'm going to start collecting bits and pieces as and when they come up.
I've been pondering picking up a set of wheels from V-Sprint. The price seems reasonable and I've only heard positive feedback. Does anyone have any thoughts on them?
I'll post pictures once I get back and get my hands on the frame.
