We'll be replacing our office A3 colour laser printer soon, and I'm asking if anyone has particular recommendations or no-nos they'd like to share. It'll be doing fairly high volume stuff as well as one-offs, connected to 4 computers only.
The Kyocera which is going has bad colour reproduction (we have no control over profiles at present, but that may change), and is annoyingly inconsistent with its margins on both single and double-sided jobs. It would be great if that could be improved upon, as we're often sent other people's jobs to print/fold/cut, and don't have time to redo their documents to lessen the impact of our shitty equipment on the output.
Xerox have just got the university wide contract for multi-function devices, but that's tied in with another department's budget, so I don't think we're obliged to procure something from them.
Any feedback regarding up-to-date devices greatly appreciated. I don't know very much of what I'm asking, which is probably abundantly clear.
