@laner - yes, it will be rubbish. I realise now I should have put 'HHSB' in the title, then more people would have signed up.

Serious answer is that as long as you're definitely fine with doing the distance fixed you'll be fine. If we do book advance tickets we'll need to make sure we make the train, obviously, but it's always the stopped time that has more affect on these things than the pace. I will do calculations that err on the safe side, especially as we want pub time at the end, so it should all be fine.
I was going to do it on gears to be honest but I'm not averse to doing it fixed. In fact I just may do that.
If people (or even a person) want to camp then I could actually do the Saturday as long as that doesn't mean someone can't come?
