Be interesting, I reckon Hippy's going to be around 4.5 watts/kg based on a 1.5 hour climb (total, utter guesswork), whereas I'll be around 3.9 watts/kg, so he'll get to the top first, then his status as a naturally gifted descender will give him the edge on the descent.
So I'll be on back foot going into the run- will my two months of near-constant injury mean that Hippy runs off up the mountain to take the £500?
I had worked up to 3.2 watts/kg. But I've been sick constantly the last few weeks. Plus I trained up to that with a knee niggle. My physio mate reckons I damaged one of the muscles around my kneecap during a rugby 7s tournament, and training with this muscle imbalance, has misaligned my kneecap.
HTFU time.
Woke up this morning without a fever. So I did a 40km 'sweetspot' (roughly 145bpm, 240 watts) ride. Doing a similar intensity 10km run tonight. Then I'll up the intensity with cycle hill repeats up a 400m, 8/9% ascent on the bike, and running up the local ski slope.
Idont mind being slow. But I'm not going into this half-arsed.
