A sample is still 'not negative' though, doesn't make sense either grammatically or otherwise-they should just say A sample 'lit up like a french nuclear plant' and B sample 'probably the same but let's pretend he's maybe innocent for another two days before shitting on him from a great height'
A positive test requires two samples to be positive. Otherwise it's just an adverse finding in one of them. Maybe contamination or non-un-mis-calibrated machine or something.
