• Was happy with my ride at the weekend. First time on this course and, as expected, the cross winds were noticeable but overall it wasn't too windy.

The main thing I noticed in the car on the drive over was that the course looks deceptively flat, but actually it's flat for the first couple of miles and then turns into a very slight drag up to the turn, including a rather unexpected "bump" as you go over the new flyover (it recently replaced an old railway crossing apparently).

I did my usual and sped off far to quickly, then struggled to get into a rhythm until about 5 miles in (half a mile before the turn). Got caught by my minute man just after the turn, but then managed to keep pace with him right up to the finish further emphasizing to myself that I need to work at the "hilly" drags which is where I seem to lose my time over the faster people.

By the end I couldn't have actually given any more which I was happy with.

Final time 24.44 which put me about 30th out of 90 entries and a PB by 7 seconds over my previous 10 time, albeit on a different course to usual.

Entered the De Laune CC open 10 on the Q10/24 this Sat. Will be my first "open" event and also first TT on a course that isn't Bexley. Should be interesting, hopefully the weather won't be as shitty as it is today...
