  • Oval Master Cycle Speedway Frame Reynolds 631.
    4130 Straight Rake Forks (silver).

    Measurements:

    Seat Tube 54.5cm C-T
    Top Tube 59cm C-C

I dont know what these measurements equate to but its a bit like a shallow low pro.

Amazing paint job similar to that of a Colnago, great condition.

Fillet Brazed at the head tube and to the top of the seat tube.

Lugged at the bottom bracket and wishbone seat stays (Pretty unique Reynolds lugs, both have a number of drill holes which looks pretty cool).

Track ends drilled to match the lugs.

Seat post (looks like a nitto 65 but i'm not 100% sure).

Seat Velo Crossbow kevlar, well used.

    Pretty new chain.

    Square taper botom bracket.

    £170

  • interesting frame, beautiful price!

  • what size wheels and tyres does it take?

  • Wheels size, i was a bit naive when i got the frame and thought i could just wack some 700c wheels on it and get it going.

But now after a bit more research it looks like you probably need 26 X 1 3/8 speedway standard? 26*1 3/8 Speedway Tyres.

You might be also able to use 26" mountain bike wheels/tyres but i'm not sure.

  • So is that your Ebay ad? What happened to the sale?

Apparently you accepted a "best offer", which could have been no more than £119, yet hours days later you're punting it on here for an extra fiddy dorrah.

    Wh'appen?

edited on account of post below

  • eBay ad ended on the 17th May. They must have bought it, realised the wheels didn't fit and are now selling it on for profit$?

  • It cost me a fair bit of time, money effort to get the frame, just want to try and cover my costs. Yeah it wasn't exactly what I was expecting when I got it. It's a pretty unique frame and I've had a bit if interest so the price can't be to far off.

Anyway I'll see how it goes, I'm happy to keep it and may build it up properly at a later date.

  • PM'd

  • This is lovely!!! Dependant on clearance you can run the MTB 26" wheels. Mine has Maxxis TT Larsen 26" x 1.9" tyres on Weinmann DP3000 rims and Miche Primato hubs. A combination which is becoming very popular in the speedway scene.

If I needed a bike I would certainly of had this. It look too nice to smash into people though

  • If i could fit my 26" tt wheels on it it would be stunning

  • You should check out 650B wheels. They are popular in France
among randonneurs. They are just bigger than 26"
and dozens of tire widths available..

  • Might mean a visit to Decathlon...

  • Or French eBay. I'm pretty sure Bob Jackson does
a 650B touring frame, so wheels should be on the menu..

  • Are you on meth?

  • Toe overlap would be hideous! Speedway is tight racing so the wheelbase would be super short.

  • Had no idea this sport existed... kind of like a road bike/bmx cross. Cool frame!

  • It was massively popular back in the day but is massively depleted these days. The City of Bradford had at least 5 teams in its prime but now only one exosts in West Yorkshire.

  • polo possibilities ?

  • There is a bit of cycle speedway info here and a pic of an oval master built up:

  • I'm from Scotland chum. It's heroin or nothing up here.
    Pip pip old chep.

  • bump

  • I have a mielec build in the mielec thread if you want to see a modern build

  • Beauty!!! Not my size , shame!!!!

  • Price Drop £160.

You can get wheels sets for £60 from here if that helps anyone:
