2013-06-01 - Norwich 100

Downhill, I'm your man.

I'm a lot heavier than you, I'll go downhill faster than you. It's the uphills where you'll catch me, you wiry grimpeur.

I'm up for this...never done more than 50 fixed. Wondering if 100 is a bit of a stretch at 48x17?

I'm still deciding between 48x16 or 48x17 at the moment (although I'll be SS) but I reckon you should be ok on that. Did it on 48x18 last year with no problem.

I'm doing it 48 x 16, same as I used in 2010 & 2011.
I tried 50 x 16 last year which was generally ok apart from a couple hills where I had to give up and walk.
This will be my first year with spd pedals which should make hill climbing a lot easier, and eliminate toe pain.

First year for SPD's for me as well.

Just read back through the last few years of Norwich 100 threads - it's quite the little tradition now. Getting quite excited about this one. Legs are annihilated after this weekend's sportive but should be a good one nonetheless.

You (and anyone else) still up for a doing a chain? I think I'lI do it on 48x16 which should give me a better rolling speed.

Yup. Might try to get involved with VC Norwich like last year.

I shall be spinning this at a moderate pace with my girlfriend, feel free to say hi if you spot us as you overtake, will be on a Moots and a Colnago respectively

Selected members of the Norwich forum ride on Friday evenings occasionally (generally towards the pub) if you're into that kind of thing.
