Kompute, I'd recommend you used a Tube Cutter, get a much nicer finish can pick them up for less than a tenner at DIY shop. http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/handtools-storage-workwear/handtools/plumbing-tools/pipe_cutters/B-and-Q-Tube-Cutter-11247828?skuId=11758533
(I stupidly bought the mini one a while back to save money and it worked but it was a serious pain to use and wouldn't wish it upon anyone to use it again!) -

I used one to chop my steerer.

It's only to cut down risers for my GF's bike. The risers cost me £7.99 and the bike less than £100 in total. I don't fancy spending 10% of the budget on cutting them down, unless someone wants to lend me one, i'll be attacking with a saw.

I have a hacksaw you can have, pick up at polo tonight, you might want a new blade for it but they're only a couple of quid.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/96306900@N04/
Weinmann DP18 to Unmarked (but exactly like my quando) Hubs, pretty much totally new, 100% true, tyre on rear not included. - £50
531 Raleigh "strada", st is 54 c-t, tt is 55c-c - very nice bike, rode it for years, has mudguard eyelets, BB was stuck and had to be heated up hence the discolouring down there. No dents or dings I can see but plenty of wee scratches.
£40
753? Concorde? ST 56cm c-t TT 54cm c-c, Not sure if the decals are correct but it was sold to me as a 753 concorde, its a fair bit lighter than the raleigh and has nice lugs. It has a big dent in the TT but I rode it like this for 6 months on the manchester potholes, I can't see it causing a problem really (no guarantees obviously, buyers discretion).
Cost me £50 will sell for £40
3T 4GX Tour De France road bars, 26 clamp, 42 c-c, again a bit scratched but nothing major, these are LIGHT about 210g I think, funky little drops but pretty comfy.
£10
Chopped drops, bullhorn style, very light, scruffy, with bar ends if - £5
31.8 Genesis Risers, 680mm, light enough, off my genesis Core 50 - £10
Retardedly chopped (not by me) drops, with gaudy black and red tape - £5
Black brake lever off the above bars seen in pics £5
Front brake Caliper which is attached to above brake, works well - free with any other purchase.
Shimano FC-6400 165mm cranks - no idea £15?
Chainring off said cranks 39t - £8
Pedals off the same photo, good condition, smooth bearings with no play - £8
Saddles - Bontrager, good condition and selle italia with gnarled rails - £5 each
Bontrager SSR Compact road bars, 44cm c-c 26 clamp (useful if you like modern position on an old quill stemmed bike) I bought these from evans but they gave me the wrong size, I scratched them up trying to fit to a too small clamp stem before I realised they were 44 and not 42 cm, cool story eh?
£15

Hey guys, I know it's a bit of a long shot but I'm on a ridiculous deadline and Maplins have just ballsed out on me.
In short, I need a motor for a cake stand, it'll be turning a 3.5kg cake through a series of cogs (15-36T) ratio (The 15T being the one connected to motor and the 36T being the plate for the cake).
Does anyone know where/have a motor capable of doing that'll take batteries or I can connect to a battery holder, a variable resistor to modulate the speed and anything else I'd need in the circuit?
Or any info on what I'll need would be really bloody useful.

Farnells will probably have everything you need. You'll need to set up an account, but that's easy enough.

Cheers for that guys! Farnells looks pretty perfect but apparently you have to be a company/business? I'm not entirely sure I can actually make an account....

Just noticed a spoke on my rear has snapped. Where is best for repair and what will the approx cost be? I have Thurs and Friday off, ideally i'd like a quick turnaround as generally i ride everyday.
Assuming branded rim and hub you should be able to find out the correct spoke length using an online calculator and replace it yourself.
How many spokes did you start with and how far out is the wheel now?
As I have very little time these days I have to be realistic and I am not going to be able to restore this frame so it is up for sale.
£80 or nearest offer??
I've tried researching the frame A LOT but haven't been able to pin it down exactly.
Its original colour seems to be metallic red, it has lovely lugs and a unique looking seat stay, seat clamp junction.
The seat post is 27.2mm.
The dropouts are stamped with BREV CAMPAGNOLO vertical and seem to be the 1010/1 type http://campagnolo.wikispaces.com/Dropouts
The numbers 1617 are stamped into the bottom bracket and it has 3x cable guides along the top tube with mudguard eyelets.
It seems that the head tube panel, was gold and it has a large band of gold on the seat tube. There is some remanence of blue transfers on parts of the gold and on the fork. It also has had at some point braze ons on the down tubes...
The red is a darkish metallic red which is the first colour the bike was. I have stripped more paint off and I have drawn up what I think it looked like as a frame when it was red.
Dimensions wise it is as follows:
22" Seat tube (centre of BB to top of top tube)
22" Top tube (centre of headtube to centre of seat post)
I wish I had the time for this as its got some really nice details.
