If it helps, 90% the awful climate makes cycling miserable. Its constantly windy, and is one of the wettest non-tropical climates in the world.

Saying that. Right now I'm off work, and its glorious. I've been cycling so much I can barely walk up stairs anymore.

I was on this quiet stretch of coastal road yesterday. Nicely undulating, with amazing senery.

DESCENDING THE GRIMSEL PASS

This was taken during the descent of the Grimsel Pass after climbing for 27km with an average gradient of over 5% and the reaching an elevation of 2,165m at the summit of the pass.

Here is a view of the road up from Gressoney to Monte Rosa in the Italian Alps, taken at dawn as the sun was coming over the mountain. Sadly, I was bikeless, trudging about disconsolately and fantasising about an epic descent. Still, the hiking was great.

Another road I've been on, fantastic area and oddly fun to watch the locals zipp up and down the mountains int he little Apes ladened with ski gear!

I suppose it looks rather similar to the Isle of Wight. I managed to ride it on a weekday and it was bliss, no traffic and smooth tarmac. The road winds back on itself so you get the full view.
