Can't help but feel that an Alfine on a race orientated cross frame would result in a bit of a disappointing ride. With the racey, stiff, aggressive frame you'll notice the Alfine's sluggishness and the EBB30 will cause you unnecessary hassles whilst eating your budget.
On a frame like that either go traditional geared or single speed / fixed with an Eno hub.
1 * 10 would also be an option and if you want to keep the shifters and brakes separate you could use a retroshifter.
