^^ Not 100% true. I changed my Unknown seat collar to a Thomson one and it is 1000x better than the old one. Before, the old clamp would let water between the post and seat tube and after the bike had dried out I would get squeaky post syndrome. Thomson, although expensive for a collar, looks good and saves me the hassle of regreasing my post* all the time.
