For Sale: Two Budget touring bikes Claud Butler Regent Saracen Skyline

Hi everyone, long time no see,
I’ve just been sorting some bikes that have come in accidentally with other bikes and frames. First off are two tourers. Shipping on bikes within the UK will be £20 – other items can ship free of charge in the same box. I can ship anywhere in the world at a reasonable cost.

CLAUD BUTLER REGENT TOURER 1991
Seat Tube (ctt): 21in (53cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531
This Claud Butler Regent dates I think from about 1991. It has 6spd Shimano Altus gears, Shimano 105 dual pivot front brake and Weinmann side pull rears, Maillard hubs with 700C rims, Stronglight 80 chainset (this will take chainrings down to 28T and can easily be converted to a triple), Kalloy/Ritchey seatpost and Claud Butler handlebars and SR stem. The wheels are a mixture of Shimano hubbed rear on a no-name rim and I’m not sure what the front wheel is but it has an aluminium rim and rusty spokes. It needs a new chain and almost certainly a freewheel and would probably benefit from a better pair of wheels.
But the frame is in excellent condition and the paint has only a few marks. £110

SARACEN SKYLINE TOURER late 1990s
Seat Tube (ctt): 23.5in (59cm), 22.5in (57cm) ctc
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
This Saracen Skyline tourer dates from the 1990s and has a sloping top tube which is great for a touring bike offering higher handlebars combined with increased standover height. I don’t know what tubing its made from and must be pretty good quality as it uses a 27.0mm seatpost. And the frame has braze-ons for racks front and rear, mudguards and bottle cages. The paint has only a few marks. It has an 8spd Shimano Sora groupset, ITM Randonneur style bars and stem. Rear wheel is an upgrade with Shimano 105 rear hub and 8spd cassette. Font hub is Miche and both rims are Mavic. All in all an excellent tourer. £195
