  • PL end of season awards:

    1) Team of the year -

Swansea have been so impressed with the way Laudrup has moved them on, still playing attacking football, but more direct than under Rodgers

    2) Manager of the year -

Toss up between Laudrup, see comments above, and Benitez who despite the barracking got things done for Chelsea, you could say with those players it was the least that was expected. But he's done a remarkable job steadying the ship.

    3) Goal of the year -

    Any of Bale's

    4) Assist of the year -

can't remember any that stand out, apart from Vertonghen to Bale, but that's super partisan

    5) Player of the year -

Michu, just because of the immediate impact he had and his cost, bargain of the year at twice the price

    6) Cunt of the year -

Probably Richard Scudamore for going all godfather on the championship when they tried to renegotiate parachute payments with the new television deal, his inability to think about anything other than the bottom line, not supporting the grass roots, not using his position to tackle spiralling ticket prices, and generally being all about the cash coming into the Premier League's coffers than about the betterment of the game.

    7) Pundit of the year -

I'm liking Phillipe Auclair and Johnathon Wilson at the minute and I've got time for Michael Cox as well...

    8) Bedwetter(s) of year -

    #weartheshirt

    9) Buy of the year -

    Michu

    10) Donkey of the year -

QPR ownership for buying players who were so past their play by date on exorbitant contracts that they now can't get rid of them...
