what would be the best waterproof bag to carry a laptop, a pair of shoes, some extra clothes and some books?
-
• #1278
Tokyo Fixed stock T-Level, my Challenger was only £95 or so, great bag (although the black fabric has now faded after 6 months in Brisbane).
Is the t level waterproof, doesn't say on the website but you'd expect for a bag of that price/intended use.
Yep, although in a tropically heavy downpour it'll start to give in in places (mine is a couple of years old mind): bottom corners, etc.

Anyone interested in buying my MW vandal? Gonna put it up for sale later on this week.. Still deciding on price... Gonna get a T level infinity instead, wise move?

Would be interested it getting the Vandal off your hands if you're selling it!

^ I can PM you before I list it for sale. Just need to sort out a new bag first, should be ordering today or tomorrow and once I am happy with the new bag, the vandal will be up for grab!

Beware the Sanction is fairly small; the people they use to model it must be about a foot shorter than me. Mine is at saturation point with an old heavy laptop, A4 binder, thin jacket, shoes, tools, and a Fahg sticking out the front pocket.
Wish I'd seen the T-Level Challenger mentioned up thread ^

Cheers mate would appreciate that! I was personally eyeing a Chrome Bravo but the Vandal would be perfect.

Sorry, I meant anything made by MW was waterproof. ^^
^challenger is good, had mine for a year and never had any issues with it. But MW come with lifetime warranty which T Levels do not.
-
• #1287
^ this was a big factor I considered. If anything goes wrong with the MW bag, you could pretty much get a replacement straight away from Condor (I think you would probably have to have bought the bag from them, I am not sure), or wherever you bought yours from. T level only gives a year and it's by tokyo fixed. Just to satisfy my nosiness, has anyone actually ask if t level doesn't provide any warranty? The only reason for the 1 year warranty carried by Tokyo Fixed is because getting stuff over from Koera isn't easy, so i was told, but that doesn't mean they don't provide any warranty... Anyone bought t level stuff from Koera directly?
Just shot an email to t level to ask...

Ah yeah I know, just added a heads-up about the Sanction's size because otherwise it looks like the perfect contender.

Chrome roll tops are pretty cheap right now on Wiggle, got the Ivan 47 litre its massive. Dont see any issues with the visibility and designed by the MW boys when they first started chrome! Much cheaper than MW too, less techy design, then less to go wrong i guess.

does the sanction have the roll top enclosure?

Have been using my T level infinity for a couple of days now, have to say it's not as roomy as my MW vandal probably due to the curve at the back and the padding all around the bag, it certainly doesn't feel as big as the vandal despite having very similar capacity when no expended / without the roll top, I think it's 32L vs 31L. But, I am loving the easy access to little things due the many pockets everywhere on the bag, which is what's lacking in the vandal. My presence is certainly noted when I am walking with my t level, it's the noisiest bag I have ever had... Major downside! Its a close call between the 2 bags, but the t level is, probably better value for money...
There, my 2 cents...
Onto my next adventure of backpacks - next up is the Chrome Kirov, the little brother of the Warsaw. With a bit of luck, it should be with me in 6 weeks time fresh from the states!
I must stress I am not a shopaholic, I am just going through a phase of backpacks madness due to stress from exams...

/\ /\ No, flipping tiny and expensive too

Which bag? The Kirov? It's 40L on paper. Have you used it or have one? Would love to see it before in fully committing. Oh and I am not buying from Chrome directly, I managed to get one of their stockists to get it for me when they order next, so it's sub £200, rather than close to £300 if getting it directly from the US.

• #1294
Looks like it's the response to the question about the Sanction being roll top.
-
• #1295
You are probably right, andytk. I was just thinking sub £200 for a 40L bag seems pretty reasonable... :-)

This! Although most of the time I'm really into how compact it is. Before I was using a bigger messenger bag and it was so uncomfortable from the excess space and stuff just knocking around. Small rucksack solved that, can barely feel it on my back.
I mostly wish it was bigger for when I use it off the bike TBH. Not really big enough for a weekend away etc.
-
• #1297
ExTra I was talking about the sanction. The Kirvov is pretty big for its price, as most Chrome backpacks are.

I got a tlevel challenger a month ago and can't sing it's praises enough. Even though is only 32l it feels like it has much more usable space than my 45l hiking bag, have already taken it on a weekend polo trip to Copenhagen and it did the job very nicely! It feels great on my back when empty as well as packed to capacity thanks to the compression straps which can also be used on the front to hold wheels etc.
Only fault is waterproofness, fine for even heavy showers but not for a whole day out in the wet.

^ dry bag inside main compartment that's what I do if I think it's gonna get very wet
