Bike Anti-Porn - When Things Go Wrong

Any good advice on track chains that are decent value and don't stretch. Got a half-link bmx one which stretched very quickly and in a very scary moment came off on a fast descent! The bike I'm using is a retro build so has quite short forward facing drop outs, so tensioning is a bit tricky.
