Still at the office.
And I wanted pizza.
I'm a sad panda.
There are no pizzas, never again.

Lucky you, Mashton's chicken had blood dripping out off it!
That is normal for chicken. (shock smilie)

The nachos dish was huge and I couldn't see anything dangerous. But happy to be back at C&H ;)

So, last night was a disappointment for me, but only from the point of view of the pub. As always at Souths there were good people, good chat and good times. Long live Souths.
As for the Half Moon, it has gone from being one of my preferred locals to being somewhere I will boycott in the space of 3 weeks! It used to be a nice antidote to the gastro-esque Reej, Florence and Commercial. A more down to Earth pub with a great selling point of fantastic home baked pizzas. Not anymore. The new management have removed pizzas from the menu and replaced them with overpriced rubbish. Much worse than this though, the food is dangerous and the service is despicable.
Last night I ordered a plate of their "Hot Chicks" chicken wings. When they arrived I was quite pleased with a reasonable sized portion for only £4 - 4 big wings, nicely battered with a side slaw and mayo. It was only after finishing the first one and starting on the second that I noticed the blood oozing out of the chicken.
I went up to the bar to complain and ask for a refund. Whilst I was there an guy walked up and started telling the staff that he had had the wings last night, found them bloody and had spent most of the day on the toilet! The manager's response was to tell me that it was OK, just a "bit of blood on the bone". I was a bit shocked. She then grudgingly gave me a refund but whilst she did so, told me not to listen to the other complaining customer since he "was a bit of a gob shite".
To serve dangerous food is bad enough, but to then try and defend yourself with dangerous nonsense and bad mouth your customers is just awful. This lot will not get another penny of my custom.
Sorry for the long rant, but I am going to copy the above into online review sites.

Could maybe do early doors. Which would have to be 6pm, since I think they still don't open before then - although things may have changed since the refurb.

According to the website, they're now open from midday (kitchens re-open at 5:30 or 5pm, depending on which bit you look at).

quiet, but good, as were the burgers, smaller but good, and the man behind the bar was super friendly...
traffic noise is louder with the awnings up, so sometimes its deafening but it might just need acclimatising too..

Now they just need to put the Stowford back on and get a decent veggie burger option. Good to see people back at the old venue, even if I couldn't stay long.

Caught Jim, Sam and Skully just as they were leaving... Swifty at Le Reej action ensued...
Missed you by ten minutes, CornDog... Dammit!

Joe, the long time racist, was obviously waiting round the corner for Andrew to leave.

He was, top bloke.
C&H look a little brighter than it used to be, nice little turnout last night, good seeing most of you.

Don't be too hasty Bruce, they were super helpful and went out of their way to make me a tasty veggie option on the burger deal, which they've done every time for me so far. Unfortunately I think that the stowford is unlikely to be back, they've got the magners because of the Irish landlord! Really lovely evening last night, good to see everyone!
