The same idea. Unfortunately too late in my career to produce really good results (even by my standards). However I did manage to do the last ride that I was actually pleased with on this machine: 4. 41. 09. for a 100 on the Farnham course. Obviously proper racing men would not be pleased with this, but I was 60 at the time, and my p.b. 100 in the distant past was only a 4.30.
I think this result showed that whatever was wrong with me, there was nothing wrong with the bike.
This machine was certainly built on the cheap - for example, as you can see in the picture, the chain is made up from odd bits.
