• Have a specialized roubaix bike.

£1500 new bought in Feb 2013

Rear fork has a fracture to it so am willing to sell for £800

Otherwise good condition - rideable, few blemishes etc

    Will get pics up tomorrow

  • paging jb

  • ^^ Why don't you get it replaced under warranty ... ?!

    Pictures might help too ...

  • Lollll thanks but no thanks tom!

  • Rear fork?

  • I'm guessing seat-stays

    this

  • Its not common, but it can happen at the yoke (seen it on various Sworks versions), lifetime warranty covers it, if not, get it repaired, costs about £60+vat+postage from HQ fibre products and it will never fail in that area again. Period.
If the mech hanger has failed and gone through the seatstay, again, repair it not a lot of money and it will sell easy, vs. not really.

  • sorry will have pics up tomorrow morning. Bought it this morning for what I thought was a bargain price, until I realized the fracture after buying. The guy knew when I called him back and just said no refunds. Bought it on gumtree so it's my fault really for not inspecting it thoroughly enough. Sorry for the lack of technological lingustics it's on the chainstay!

  • so if I get it repaired it I'll be able to maybe scrape some of my losses back? that might be good.. haha

  • So let me get this straight you didn't buy it for the stated £1500 how much did YOU buy it for?

  • too much. No of course I didn't pay the RRP for it, it is a used bike of 3 months

  • So why make it sound like it was relevant in your advert, you sound a bit dodgy tbh.

  • From Brick Lane?

  • make what sound like it's relevant? the fracture? the fact that I got royally mugged off? I bought it off a man in shephards bush literally this morning, he claims he can email me the purchase receipt. Perhaps he can't, I'm going to text him now, I think it's the least he could do. I'm not dodgy, don't know why you're assuming this.

  • Because your advert makes it sound like you bought it from new hence the RRP reference, so it's 2nd hand already. Sorry you got mugged off but the way your advert is written doesn't really give the whole picture. Anyways good luck getting some of your money back.

  • cheers. I apologize if I have mislead anyone, this was not the intention!

  • Get receipt, and attempt to dupe spesh, though I can warn you now, they barely have any roubaix frames about, 54 & 56's especially, they are saving them for super pissed off super legit customers. But if they do allow replacement, then go for it, you never know, sometimes they ONLY have s-works frames for warranty replacements.....

OR, do the right thing, get it to HQ fibre or similar, get it repaired for not much, and ride it and enjoy. A repaired frame will always be worth less than a solid example.

  • thanks for the advice. Much appreciated
