  • Some good advice here

  • All black (including black rear wheel non aerospoke) except from yellow front aerospoke !

All silver (including silver rear wheel non aerospoke) except from yellow front aerospoke !

  • So you're going for the aerospoke? Like, for reals?

  • I say black 'spok, save the yellow for the gear:

  • ^that photo just keeps on giving.

  • I would go classic silver on this, like my old Bob Jackson conversion.

I think done right it could look great, however, if you're considering an aerospoke, then stop...

The money you will waste on that wheel could be better spent elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with a single speed/fixed conversion, until you start trying to HHSB it or cutting bits off.

  • ncjlee :-) !

TM nice build ! Glad you feel this could work !

I was browising through some nice deep section rims on Velomine which I am guessing some of them would look really sweet (H Plus Son Formation, velocity chukker, velocity B43,velocity Deep V, etc).

I am not sure any of them come in a machined version though??

  • Get some v sprint wheels, there is a code somewhere on the forum. Great wheels

  • The wheels on my conversion were v-sprint, really well built wheels and the 30mm rim are machined. I'd got for miche hubs on the mach rims though all silver. The discount code is lfgssprice I believe.

  • There's nothing wrong with a nice conversion, just stay away from aerospokes
and over-emphasized colour coordination, option 2 sounds spot on.
As for wheels, I'd build these onto these (http://hilarystone.com/hubsrims700.html scroll down to find them),
I haven't had first hand experience with v-sprint wheelsets, but I suppose the
option above would be a better bang for the buck and IMO would suit the frame better.
Whatever you're going for, good luck, it looks like a hell of a frame.

  • Anakin, you're breaking my heart!

  • a yellow spokk will be boss.
also, -1 for eyelets and all the useless stuff.

  • lol Martin you troll.

Conversions can be ok, just throw generic silver parts on it, don't go for funky colours and for godsake do not spok it.

  • stop caring about bikes that dont belong to you:)

  • this frame would only be at home with period correct road bike components.

quoted for you to read again 1 year from now

  • Is it wrong to quite like this?

  • Researching components for this frame is all I do these days !

I tried to research a bit the Miche components and I became quite font of the Miche Primato pista group! (hubs, chainset, headset, break calipers, chain)!

I think they would also look nice on the frame.

    Any experiences with the components?
Any suggestions where I could get them fairly priced?

  • Ah you don't want miche.

Not only is the quality debatable but they wouldn't look good on a frame of this age.
Better off going for an Andel chainset, system ex track hubs, some open pro rims, maybe a tange headset, Izumi standard chain, and a brake of your choice.

  • I have a full Record Pista group for sale if you wanted to go 'Pimp'.

  • Do you have it listed here? Would be interested to have a look!

  • Okay guys, I know that with this threat I will not win the popularity contest on here but I will stick to my plan of posting some picture of this build.
