Thanks for the love. The ratty raleigh randonneur is doing the job well. Mega sturdy. Rode it laden with bags to the other side of town tonight(around 15miles).
Though mine seems to be missing the beauty of the above black bike, it makes up with Functionality. Having two brakes and the gears close to hand(not behind you) seems like a no brainer.....
The Minoura front rack is shoddy, got it from a mate for very little money, so cant grumble. I had to file the holes so the bolts would fit. Few other alterations. seems strong enough, but only going to use it to carry light things, sleeping bags etc. I find front racks with heavy objects throw off the bikes balance...... but its handy to have the extra space.
