Don't forget that you asked for a BB that will last a long time. A Hope Ceramic will last forever, so they did what you asked for. A steel one will only last about 5 years, and is 3 grams heavier, and £30 cheaper. Just get on with it.

Communication, you assumed they would fit a certain part.
I wouldn't leave my bike with anyone until it was clear what work would be undertaken and what parts may need fitting. Getting a high-low cost estimate also makes sense if you want to avoid suprises.
Seems like both you and the shop made a mistake.

They last forever? I thought they wore out faster. I need a new bb, and within the excessive trolling in here, is it a good recommendation?
I'd write it off to experience- and get out on the bike and enjoy the nice smooth BB.
Hopefully the BB will outlast the feelings of annoyance from which you are currently suffering.
