Weather looking bad for Sunday, possible to move it to tomorrow or is it stuck in stone?
What forecast are you looking at? BBC Weather says there's no rain in London until 1pm, and no rain in Eynsford until 4pm.
In any case I am busy tomorrow so this ride will be happening on sunday as planned.
As suspected my mate has abadoned me, because he's fucking useless and doesn't think his legs are up for a trip to Brighton, so I am free for this if the weather isn't horrendous. I assume you're gonna go South from Brick Lane - I'm off the OKR, any chance we can meet along the way? A horde of ladies on bikes can't be hard to spot!
Hooray, looking forward to you coming along! We can certainly meet along the way. Which end of OKR are you?

In that case ignore me, I have accuweather which now show it calm down a bit.
As you were!

Phew, I was worried then, I want to see owls!

Ladies, I don't think you're listening to Scoble....

Stirer :-)
Having survived a night ride with pouring rain for 8 hours. Sunday ain't no thang if there's a shower or two.

Am. Just by the big Asda / McDonalds. Near Burgess Park?
No idea how well you know the road. Some people have never even heard of it! (and it's on the bloody monopoly board...!) -

Seraphinx - I know the OKR far too well (what with being a southeast londoner). We won't actually be riding on it on sunday, but we'll be on a road parallel. Let me figure out timings etc and I'll post up a meeting point later on today, if that's okay?

Can't make it but awfully jealous.
Taking this opportunity for a cross-post! http://www.lfgss.com/thread104588.html

I am also jealous.
Hopefully a small parcel to make up for my absence has arrived with Hats though...

Lovely! Thanks betty.
Owl cake(s)? #alwaysthinkingaboutmystomach
-
• #138
Mmm cake...alas no, I'm not sure cake would travel too well, or last till Sunday! (not that I'm saying Hats would eat it all by then)

• #139
Disappointment replaced by reminder of a pre-ride beigel. Or two.

Hi hats, muchos gracias! I'm happy to meet you guys anywhere vaguely nearby, I wouldn't mind going to meet you guys at Brick Lane but I'll be perfectly honest, at that time on a Sunday morning I'd probably be late and delay you all (plus, I just can't get along with bagels so will be filling up on eggs and bacon before I leave, lol)!
I'll pm you with my number for ease, in case anything changes last minute, but will keep an eye on the thread. Really looking forward to meeting some other bike riding ladies (literally do not know a single other female who rides a bike regularly....)

It's worth noting that we'll be riding as a group, which help make it feel comfortable to ride in.

Hi ladies – I’ve got to say I am SUPER excited about Sunday. Most excitingly, the very lovely and talented Betty has made reflective owls, which I will be selling for a mere £5 each (some of this will make its way back to the forum as a donation). Word of warning: these owls are much coveted, my old one went missing from my bike. If you would like an owl then please bring £5 along with you.
You will also need some money for entry to Eagle Heights. It’s £9 for adults or £7.50 for students (bring ID if you are a student).
Other things to bring: waterproof jacket, owl/bird related clothing (optional… but why not!), mobile phone, lights. I’ll have some tools but if you have anything crazily non-standard then do bring spares.
The route is 22 miles from Brick Lane to Eagle Heights, the first half is completely flat but the 2nd half isn’t – no monsters or anything though. No one will be left behind or dropped or anything like that. HOWEVER, we do need to leave on time so please be ready to leave Brick Lane at 9.30am.
There’ll be some pick up points along the way: the corner of Tanner Street/Tower Bridge Road SE1 at 9.45; the corner Catlin Street/Rotherhithe New Road SE1 at 9.55; and Chislehurst Common (corner Heathfield Lane/Centre Common Road) at 11.15. Please let me know if you want to meet at any of these to save waiting around.
After the owls, we’ll head to a pub in Eynsford and then anyone who wants to take the train home can do (every half hour, 45 mins to Blackfriars, about £8 I think), or we can ride back.
If you don’t have my number, drop me a PM.
See you all on Sunday! x

Excited! Will meet you guys by Caitlin / Rotherhithe New Road as it's round the corner from my house. I feel a bit lazy meeting along the way so am gunning to ride there and back again.
Am newly fixed though, a bit worried about the hills!

Ha, yep, you got me. Just found the LFGSS owl thread as well. Afternoon's work >>>>>>>
If only I wasn't a) cycling in Glos this weekend and b) a man. If I did come, I would wear my bigfaceowl tshirt... http://www.firebox.com/product/5889/Big-Face-Owl-T-ShirtEnjoy EagleHeights, it's excellent. Been once. For your next trip, I thoroughly recommend http://www.birdsofpreycentre.co.uk/ - about 40 miles norf.

Owl, what's YOUR favourite owl?
And Seraphinx, don't worry about the hills, nothing big at all. You'll be grand!
