If you're talking Yates and Rogers I think you could be bang on. Not the same discipline and mental fortitude displayed from Brad. A lazy feel to his racing up until the Giro, and I think his form is more down to his mental state than his physical fitness. He's shown focus in flashes in his career, then relapses. He doesn't look hungry this year, unlike Froome. That could be down to the loss of the most experienced road captain and Brad's closest DS.
