Guys thank you for all the responses! I can now report that the bike has been safely returned and a full refund was received !
I am happy to see that other members were able to obtain useful info from this thread.
I also hope that the shop takes note and treats customers better, going forward!

The vintage shamals are like fine women or vintage wine, they are excellent when they are in good condition but they are also delicate and can turn into a mess if they don't get treated right, the low spoke count adds to the stresses on the metal.

. I recently replaced the spokes in one for a customer and after stripping the hub and freehub, everything inside was still perfect!
But you can still get pretty much any spares for them, so if a refund doesn't work out and the rim isn't too worn you could maybe rebuild the wheels!
I hope that was helpful!
Sorry for hijacking the thread a little, but I'm interested to know if you used the existing nipple supporting plates? I have a pair of 16h rims that I need hardware for, searching high and low but no avail.
To the OP - best of luck with getting your bike going or getting your money back, whichever way it goes
Spokes:
Get your lbs to order them from RJChickens or CycleSportNorth (who might have to get them sent from Campag)
Try ringing/emailing Velotech

Or like Rive Gauche said get the part number from Campag and try ebay!
