He wouldn't have ripped out the class TT the other day and then faltered here.
He's just not as good a climber as the other GC contenders. He struggles when it's steep and struggles with pace changes. I wonder if he has considered something like track pursuiting...

I think Sky gambled on a risky plan B yesterday, using a different tactic - it paid off with a stage win and a rise in contention for Uran, it cost them in a loss of time for their named GC rider.
