He's just not as good a climber as the other GC contenders. He struggles when it's steep and struggles with pace changes. I wonder if he has considered something like track pursuiting...

Nah, he was poorly during the TT.

If he'd been at 100% he'd have had time to stop for a pint and a B & H half way round the course whilst still putting minutes into the beeg feevoorits.

I think Sky gambled on a risky plan B yesterday, using a different tactic - it paid off with a stage win and a rise in contention for Uran, it cost them in a loss of time for their named GC rider.

Bumface is still riding brilliantly - probably helped by not being incessantly attacked by Tejay van Garderen.
