I'll definitely be traveling light. Maximum 12kg behind me and about half that on the frame and bars, using an Ortlieb Ultimate 5 Compact handlebar bag
Havent heard anyone about anything similar here. They seem nice to put stuff like wallet/passport etc. in because they come off so easy and have a clip-on shoulder strap.
Mike Hall also rode a carbon Planet X frame on his tour around the world. My geometry is a bit more racy but it'll do fine for a 40 day journey.
PS: You cant see it on the pic but the Orlieb bag has got this carbon white look which suits my bike like porn!
