If it's south, I ain't local :-)
However I have now got a nice little collection of pre-tags. Means I can't sell that Steve Goff until I have used them all though :-(
I continued along the river path towards Woolwich, passing some lovely places that anyone who goes on the East ride will be familiar with, and also encountered the magnificent sight of HMS Illustrious, moored at Greenwich and open to the public for this weekend only. The Royal Navy were out in dress uniform with an exhibition about the Battle of the Atlantic, 70 years ago.
After a nice pootle towards Woolwich, idly thinking about crossing on the ferry or the tunnel, I happened upon the Emirates cable car, so went north on that., before riding up the riverside on the North, up through Beckton to the Greenway and back to Victoria Park. -

Thinks about going out and getting the new one

Thought about going out and getting the new one, but it's a bit of a schlep...

Heh! Giveaway or what?
Changed and on the bike in 3.... -

I cannot believe I went out in the rain to get this....
Old:
Ex-NASA stage one rocket boosters re-deployed at SELCHP to turn South London's garbage to toast (and energy). Opposite Millwall footy ground.
New:
I had to go down under to get this fellah from down under....
Apols for the image quality - I was hoping some gates would be open - they weren't.
(That's the top of my left STI at the bottom of the pic BTW)
Oh, and another thing....
On my commute? On a Sunday? I get enough of that five days a week!
If this hasn't been had by tomorrow evening, I'm likely to be in possession of a better quality pic, which I'll post.Like so...

Nice new tag. Pretty sure the 'rocket boosters' are just fans though..

Aw! C'mon - they must be rocket boosters :)
As an aside, the whole place makes a choice industrial noise. (I've only ever gone past there on the train, so not noticed it)
The sort of noise that Ridley Scott would bite your hand off for, to have as background soundtrack in one of his films.
Perhaps. -

Thanks for the new pic. I have this niggling feeling it's in my neck of the woods. No skippy yet though
-
• #12213
Skippy's not on Googleearth.
So don't waste your time. -
• #12214
So we've had some railings and a blue shed.
I hope there's more in the shed than garden tools. -
• #12215
No tools are left in that shed overnight.
However, as there doesn't appear to be too much movement, you should pick up on the previously left clues.
My having to go down under was one. -
• #12216
I am stumped.
-
• #12217
The reference to my commute was another clue - although only a few on here will know that it is between SE23 and E17.
Look at how much time passed between me posting 'Getting changed and on the bike in 3' and when the new tag was posted - not very long....
EDIT: OK - just realised that you can no longer see it expressed in hours -it was less than a couple

So don't **waste **your time.
between SE23 and E17.
Went on a recce last night to a few of the industrial estates enroute between those post codes, alas no skippy. Even fell off my bike twice - hunting for tags doesn't mix well with being new to cleats - I can't multi-task.
Here's my 2 pence: down under - Thames tunnel/antipodean connection - there's lots of Aussie/NZ street names round E17/E10 mixed with a link to the previous tag theme of waste perhaps?
I get the impression it's my turn to be the nincompoop...
-
• #12219
Thames tunnel is correct - from which you can safely assume that the new tag is not on the same side of the river as the old.
The reference to waste of time was for google maps - Skippy and his blue shed turned up on site after the google car went past - so they don't appear on google earth. No link, waste or otherwise, to the old tag. Here's some moar help: I cycled from SE23 to the old tag, took pics, then to the new one, took more pics and was back in SE23 and probably took about 10 minutes to upload - all in less than two hours, probably closer to an hour and a half.
You should be able to ascertian the most direct route from SE23 to E17, and how far along that route I'd get (and back again) in the time my wheels were turning for. I would've thought that'd put you in the area of the new tag.
The new tag isn't (depite its looks) on an industrial estate. Mostly a residential area, with some light industry behind it, and big business not too far away.I'm sorry to hear you came off. I hope you've not injured yourself.
I'm curious as to where you rode - just to know how close you may've been to the new tag. -

Is the roo fed?
-
• #12221
Not sure about fed, but he'll not go thirsty judging by the tinny of Fosters sticking out of his pouch.
-
• #12222
I went past Skippy about an hour and a half ago.
He knows you're all indoors, staying out of the rain.
He's not angry. He's just wet. He'll still be there when the sun is shining again. -
• #12223
I wasn't indoors, I just spent the last hour cycling around the undisclosed area where I think he may be looking for him! I have to say it's a good tag, I'm truly stuck, although I do still have some further areas to explore.
Still, nice evening for a pootle. I like cycling in the rain.

........ I like cycling in the rain.
Heh!
Good man.
Having replaced the front brake cable which snapped on my way home (Skippy didn't notice, or if he did he didn't say) I've just been out to the stupormarket for Kedgeree components in the pi§§ing rain.
B@d@§§ cyclist! -

The former site of the supertracker wheel alignment centre and vehicle recovery yard, Violet Road, opposite Brock Place Gardens, E3:
The 'roo and his home are now gone - there was nothing behind the fence. Hardest tag evah!
Google map link as evidence: http://goo.gl/maps/bU4dU
New:
Someone's thrown something at the pavement, but where?
Ha sorry BlueQuinn! Only just saw your post.
I did get this a few hours ago though then realised my new tag had already been done and had to run out and grab another + new tag's not a million miles away if you're local?
Happy tagging!
