  • Perfect! Bringing it out for a Wednesday evening spin tomorrow weather providing? Drop me a text if your game!

  • I may have to pussy out of Wednesday, this week anyway, I'm not sure il be able to (want to) keep up with you, and I think I need a few gentle evening rides to break her (me) in!

  • Haha we aren't that fast I promise! If your having a little spin at any point give me a heads up always down for a ride!

  • Jesus! What more to ask for?

    treat her gently

  • dont come out on wednesday. I dont want to fall off my bike staring at yours.

    jokes, come out. It's fun.

  • Lovely build.

  • So, are you going to have a second wheelset, or just never really ride it?

  • Plenty of spare tyres/ride it carefully and selectively.

  • Second wheelset is a must IMO.

  • What, plenty of spare Soyo Golds? ;-)

  • So long as its ridden carefully, maintained well and the wheels are regularly retrued I see no point in building a second set of wheels.

It's not as if I'm going to be popping to the shops on it!

Ultimately it's a Sunday best ride which in England is probably that once a month occurance where you know it's not going to rain!

  • It's a beaut! GJ! Massive gearing too.

  • I think the issue is more the tubs themselves, rather than the wheels.

  • Yeah, unless you fit hard wearing tubs, or clinchers, (or brake?) I don't see how you'll ever enjoy riding it... Unless just posing about, or riding long traffic and junction free roads, or at the track...

  • Yeah, unless you fit hard wearing tubs, or clinchers, (or brake?) I don't see how you'll ever enjoy riding it... Unless just posing about, or riding long traffic and junction free roads, or at the track...

    Skiddeh...right into traffic.

  • Hit the nail on the head there!:

Unless just posing about, or riding long traffic and junction free roads, or at the track...

And also back to my original blurb of just accepting the fact il smash through tyres!

  • ...or riding long traffic and junction free roads...

Well I know those aren't common in manc...

    ...or at the track...

    There's one of those though...

However, you still have to negotiate the roads to get there...

  • riding long traffic and junction free roads

the Cheshire countryside isn't that far away..... (...imagines face off's with tractors and shit riddled roads...)

An ultimately, you don't have to be riding like a man possessed to enjoy the fruits of your labour.....

......although thats like buying a supercar and always sitting in the inside lane at 56mph.....

  • She's fit! Well done, R. At first I thought she magically stand on herself, nice use of a glass.

  • That's probably the best looking bike I've ever seen.

  • Incredibly arousing

  • Yeah, unless you fit hard wearing tubs, or clinchers, (or brake?) I don't see how you'll ever enjoy riding it... Unless just posing about, or riding long traffic and junction free roads, or at the track...

    lol, somebody's jelly....

    Dick, its sickeningly beautiful.
Well done, with parts sourcing you must have gone through a lot.
    crazy nice.

  • It is beautiful, i can see where TM is coming from though, i certainly wouldn't enjoy riding those tyres on UK roads, i would have liked it just as much if you used clinchers.

  • Yes so jelly Martin, maybe one day I'll have a full NJS build with tubs....

  • Thanks guys :)

Took her out for about 3 hours this morning/afternoon on a variety of different surfaces and i completely understand (expected) what you are all getting at with the tubs.

Ive got Panasonic Panaracer Rapide 150's on it at the moment (they're fucking tiny - 18mm across) and every single bump can be felt. Some road surfaces i was honestly quite scared on.

This is the first time ive ridden a decent bike in England, on English roads (i lived in Basel, Switzerland for 3 years previously and was spoilt rotten with super-smooth roads and a super bike friendly city) and i really didn't know what to expect.

    The roads were shit.

The bike however, is absolutely incredible. As soon as i hit a smooth bit of tarmac and felt confident enough to really give it some beans, wow, that gearing is incredible and its almost frightening when your in the drops, but fuck it was exhilarating!

Actually relatively pleasant pootling around town aswell!
