The size of his shirt leads me to think so, yes. If you mean the old dear to the right of the picture, her movements look perfectly natural. She probably wants to get away from the whole scene ASAP and I don't blame her.

^ Do you mean the woman in the background to the left in her white coat clutching her handbag? 0_o

Not that it would matter if a bloke had a pink pair of shoes and a handbag with a heart on, but I'm pretty sure it's a woman.

I got it as a complete but it had been standing for years and was covered in moss. It's standard except for the rear wheel which was dirt cheap and perfect spacing. The front wheel was £15, the seat is from my BMX, MKS sylvan pedals an old BMX chain wheel and new tape. Perfect summer runner
cool i would like one of those frames and im guessing the back wheel was a no logo or somethin it looks smart though

For beaters, some of the components are top quality. Some of these bikes put my main rides to shame.

Just a state of mind, my Vivalo will probably end up a beater after a year or so.

Yeah that's the bit that bothers me.
you can just rattle can it with rustoleum flat black primer. it will stick to the rust quite well.
thing people always forget though is that the inside of the bike after a few years is as rusty as can be.
if that bothers you then get frame treatment.
I do that to all my frames. Not out of caution, just out of care.

The main issue for me is that my daily bike tends to live in the back yard and the potting shed is for projects and weekend bikes...
I have treated the insides of other bikes with framesaver and also linseed oil, the only reason I didn't bother with it on this particular frame was that I was thinking of plating it... If not I will do a framesaver job and maybe some rustoleum primer on the rusty bits.... Until I make my mind up I'm keeping it in the potting shed and riding another bike everyday!

i'm just saying I once stripped a bike raw and kept it raw with the continued re-application of petroleum distillates to keep it rust free. It was for my girl at the time. When we parted ways she never kept up with the petroleum distillates and the frame literally rusted head to toe. Quite a sight really. Clearly impossible to reverse. I got back together with her and painted the bike black with primer. It was extremely durable. Not your usual shit rattle can job.
I decided that rust is the best primer and primer is the best paint. when doing a rattle can job.

i'm thinking of getting a genesis madison alu track bike for general hacking around/locking up places - I can get a good price on it and would like to make it look as unappealing to thieves as possible, any tips for ratting it up?

Don't clean it. Cover it in stickers. Put some rusty parts on it. Attach a bull terrier to guard it at all times.
