Hmm, it all depends on what bike you need/want most. The bb and headset will probabally be weird threads so regreasing them or get some new bearings would be the hest option. Stuck seatpost a can be a deal breaker so focus your efforts on that first.
Best size to go on is TT length, if your other bikes are modern with compact geo it might fit you, but only you can tell if it fits or not! -

Steel seatpost? Remove bb, plug the top of the seapost and spray plusgas into the seatube through the bb. Leave it for a week of two then clamp the bit of seatpost sticking out on a vice and twist it out. If it's alu then could be tricky.

Was this the one on ebay? Was watching it but got put off by the £40 postage! You might have trouble getting the cranks off - don't you need a french threaded puller? And don't lose that stem, because 22.2mm ones probably won't fit. And find a Simplex derailleur or convert that gear hanger...

I would definitely go for it.. probably you'll have problems in finding original parts but when you finish project and look at final product you'll be proud on what you did...

I have this frame in Yellow! Picked it up at a boot fair a few months ago. If you can touch it up really well, I'd say get it looking good and build it up yourself. Mine's turned out to be quite a head turner even though it's not got all original parts etc

Yes it was the one of ebay, the guy bought it in to central london for pick up so I could avoid the delivery costs, which was nice of him.
Thanks for all the tips and advice, will start with the seat post this week and go from there.
Will of course keep you posted as I go along
Picked this up very cheap off original owner, been sitting in his shed for the last 10 years gathering rust and he wanted rid of it
Think its a PRN 10, Reynolds 531, have got the original tubular wheels (very rusty) and stronglight cranks as well.

On initial inspection it looks like the headset and BB will need to be replaced, I think they're both french threads which I've heard can be tricky. The seat post is going to be a bitch to get out as well.
Am wondering whether it will be worth pouring money into it and restore with as many original or similar parts as I can find or just convert into a trusty beater.
Either way will need a trip to Armortex as there's a lot of corrosion on the frame.
Its a large frame as well, 63cm. I'm 6ft 1in so will just about fit but my two other bikes are 57/58cm and am very comfy on those.
Other option of course is to sell it on here...
Has anyone embarked on similar projects? I'm up for a challenge but I guess I'm keen to know whether it will turn out to be more money and time than its worth to restore to its former glory....
