dunno if this go here or new thread, but is there any size chart for trick bikes? rahter, I'm 195, what should I go for?
-

^195 cm tall?^ As in 6ft 5? Blimey son!
I reckon it depends on what feels comfortable for you, so go try out some trick frames of ur mates and see. I'm only 5ft 8 (174cm tall), and I ride a smallish trick frame, 53cm c-t-c. I think a 64cm frame would be about right for your height if you were talking track sizes (ie pretty much biggest frame you can get), but some people ride trick frames that are much bigger or much smaller than the 'right' size for them. I know a few people smaller than me who ride 57cm trick frames...
hope this insight helps :)

Well for road I use 61, feels a bit small thou. I though one would go for a bit smaller frame for tricks thou.. Seems quite hard to find big trick frames thou.. any tips?
2nd question, prob been asked already, but how much should one be prepared to have to spend on a trickbike (new/2nd hand)?

yes, people generally downsize for trick bikes. it also depends on what bike your going for.

Im after building a FGFS bike and will only riding the thing around town, no tricks. I am struggling with the size i will require to make it look like the rear is dropped, like this (got this as an example off here, hope no one minds) :-
Im 5'11" and 32" leg, i usually ride a 56cm road / fixed frame.Any help would be appreciated, or if you have a frame to sell, let me know
Cheers

Why build a freestyle bike if you aren't going to do tricks?
Pointless really. -

Pointless really.I like bikes, I enjoy riding bikes, I get satisfaction from building bikes to my own spec, I want to own lots of bikes...simple really.

I get that, but why not spend your money on something that'll be a better ride around town?

Suggestions welcome pal? Ive already got a Dolan Pre Cursa fixed (and love the fixed) and a Trek road bike for serious miles. I want a bike for comfortable pub / general riding with riser bars, larger tyres (for drunken states!) and look cool, obviously! Fixed as well. The Gangsta got me interested...i was even looking for an old mountain bike frame with horizontal drops to single speed.

Surly Steamroller, think you can stick up to 35/38c on them.
-
• #166
Looked at them, I want more of the Gangsta look in terms of the top tube raking backwards... i suppose they are quite a compact frame. This is what i need to know, what frames thy are and sizes to suit.

On a fixed gear bike, do you not worry about what happens if the chain snaps and you have no breaks to stop you colliding with stuff?
-
• #168
Front brake all the way...

Yes, I worry but I don't really care.
If you're that worried put a brake or two on it, then worst case scenario you have a freewheeling bike.

Yeah man. Serious! Want to see a picture of it built up?

• #173
How much pal?

Yes but isn't the point of the whole fixed gear thing to be no brakes!
