  • Name and shame pls.

^ Seconded: he's had plenty of opportunity to put things right.

  • is it babs83?

  • I'll give him another day to reply and then name and shame him, but then what? I still don't get my money back do i? There are a couple of forum members who have met up with him in the past to get items, if they have his number/address what then?

    Edit: No it's not Babs83

  • ...There are a couple of forum members who have met up with him in the past to get items, if they have his number/address what then?

  • Naming and shaming may or may not help you get your money back but it could stop other forum members from dealing with this person and potentially having the same difficulties.

  • Yeah so the story discussed earlier, my shit came in the mail about two weeks ago. Awful packing job, cranks, a front wheel, chains, pedals and a frame thrown in together without any sort of protection / padding. I didn't get the jag stem I bought, there was a separate package for it inside the box but it was empty. There was a small hole in the bottom corner of the box so I guess it could've fell out. Also found a dent in the frame, which was covered with a sticker, and wasn't mentioned when I bought all this. The dude also shipped the package two and a half weeks late. I guess that's that.

    Off towards new disappointments.

  • Shame on Daniel Stuth.

Small claims court? All it takes is a little paperwork.

  • ...I guess that's that...

    No it's not.

People like this rely on people thinking "fuck it, I can't be bothered": you need to pursue it.

Goods lost in transit is his problem, not yours: file a Paypal dispute.

Goods not as described, ie damage not disclosed: file a Paypal dispute.

This is where Paypal earn their fees: file a dispute and don't compromise; make sure he pays for return postage *before *you send it back, or screw him for a hefty discount which accounts for the lost stem, the dent in the frame, the delay in posting and the fact he's a cunt.

If you don't pick him up on this, he's just going to keep on doing it.

  • Yeah disputing this isn't an option, but that was a fuck up on my behalf.

  • can you name who these people are pls?

i don't want to trade with them and if you've given them a chance to sort it out then it's totally legit to put it out there and warn folk.

  • I think that was a gumtree deal

  • The guy had ads on gumtree but contacted me through my WTB add on here.

  • Name and shame please.

  • sorry this probably isn't the right place to ask this but in lack of a better thread; anyone on here know a daniel stuth, located in london? ...

    name and shame please.

    rtft

  • ^ In all fairness he may have used a different username on here. LaurenceCardiff has gone quiet. Does that mean you have received a full refund or are just too polite to name the cunt?

  • Quite easy to work out from Laurence's post history...

  • sounds like a right Laurence...

  • Someone already mentioned troubles with 'cubism' aka Daniel from London (not Stuth and I wont give his last name just yet)

I bought a bike off morgasm ( http://www.lfgss.com/thread100792.html ) in early March (4th IIRC) after finding someone in London (cubism) to post it for me ( thread here http://www.lfgss.com/thread102286.html )

Morgasm confirmed he got the money and that cubism did indeed pick up the bike last minute (morgasm was leaving on a holiday hence to possibility to post it himself).

At first I was in nearly daily contact with cubism through Skype and the forums and he was just really busy with other stuff so I was glad enough to let him sort it out as it wasn't really riding weather yet what with the snow and all where I live.

Then a lot of empty promises "gonna do it later this week" etc, I wont post the whole conversation obviously but it's all logged for sure.

As of now, Cubism hasn't even logged on LFGSS in two months and Skype is very quiet indeed. No emails have reached him either.

I'd love to know if anyone in here knows him as he looks to be a reasonably active member up until recently. I hope nothing bad has happened to him, and would obviously love to get my bike at some point. Student with 0 income spending roughly £450 for a couple of emails is a bit steep but I suppose I can only blame myself for trusting this specific member.

Any help or information regarding cubism and previous experiences dealing with him are greatly appreciated though!

  • ouch.

Do you have a real name/address for him? Only way to solve it is to go round there tbh.

  • Looking through a few old posts it seems gaz1979 went to view a frame he was selling, so might be worth pm'ing him for address and either visit there or inform the police of the theft.

  • His real name is Daniel Prendergast, according to Skype anyway.

krankers: I doubt PMing someone who hasn't been online in 2 months would do much good in way of procuring a address. And I wont be visiting someone in London all the way from Helsinki either.

Anyway let's hope someone here knows him and what's going on. Another member is waiting for him to ship some forks over as well.

  • Hi, I bought a nice 653 cougar frame off colnagokid recently, and he has been very nice and posted the frame carefully packaged. When I dropped it off at brixton cycles, however, they told me that the frame has been crashed before and is not worth getting built up. Now colnagokid has not been responding to my pms for about 5 days, and I frankly feel that he should take it back, as it is clearly not fit for purpose. Has anyone experienced similar problems with buying from him (he has quite a few sales threads)? thanks, kaya

is he a friend of morgasm? why not contact him?

Hey sorry, I've been too busy to think about it really. I've gone and got the guy's number off of someone who has dealt with him previously. I've also got his address. I'll ring him up tomorrow. I haven't named him as there is very little reason for him to actually give me back the money, if I name him what other leverage do I have? I just want my money back.

edit: any suggestions on how to get my money back, I'm going to give him a call tomorrow and see, but i'm not hopeful. Just a pain in the arss really.

  • Don't ring, that'll just alert him; round up a posse and go there: cash or goods in lieu.

When I worked in Brussels, we were owed money: hired a couple of off-duty cops who took the guy somewhere and came back with a cheque for USD3 million.
