  • Skully, other than aesthetics, the theory behind the rear end is thus:
    Large, oversized, high quality chainstays to keep it laterally stiff when your cranking it out of the saddle. The skinny seat stays and wishbone allow for vertical compliance and a more comfortable ride. The positioning of the stays or wishbone connector allow you to increase or decrease stiffness according to the rider, which is fine, as long as they join the tube at a butted section.
    GeorgeG, I have built a few audax frames, although not under the Talbot branding. If you are interested in one, I can easily use some of the drawings I had from these frames and include it in the offer.
    As can be seen from the above, I mentioned both lateral stiffness AND vertical compliance in a sentence, and alluded to the fact I can draw. This proves my credentials as a frame builder and gives me the right to ask for lots of money from you for a collection of ferrous tubes.
