EDIT I have tried to fit another head set into the frame, and the cups are loose in the frame. The original head set cups fit fine, but the newer, budget cups are loose. I measured the older cups and they are about 1 tenth of a mm (digital caliper:30.09mm v 29.98mm) larger than the newer ones, and so I think putting the old head set in and leave it. I'd guess either someone has to put some time into sorting out the proper headset or they can keep the old one and use the old fork with an Aheadset adapter(http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-track-bike/System-Ex-Quill-Ahead-Adaptor-1-1-8x1-Silver/SYSTHBSZ200?utm_campaign=Googlebase&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=Googlebase). Either way, not sure if you all would think it would be worth it, but just making sure that I keep it honest here and not drop a problem on some unsuspecting buyer. So if you would like a nice light frame for your future pub bike, then here you go, or if you want to invest in an adapter that will allow you to use the original fork then by all means this baby can be yours.
This frame is made from a Super Vitus tube set with Super Vitus dropouts. I purchased this last year, and it was my daily rider until I figured out my back pain was coming from a frame that was just too small, and the fact that I could not ignore the indexed headset. Seat tube is 53 cm ctc, and a 54cm top tube. Paint is tired, and I am taking the seat tube pinch bolt out for another frame.
It was/is a fantastic ride though and is light. I have no idea who made it, perhaps one of you all-knowing types could lend a hand on that. The previous owner scratched off most of the logos, but I was able to make out the word/name "Runseaux" down the seat tube (reveals nothing on a google search). I purchased it in Paris. The seat tube holds a 26.6 seat post, and I have a Miche Primato Aero looking one that does not fit into my 531c Gazelle seat tube that I'd throw in for a 5er.
The fork: the upper portion of the threads have been mangled. I noticed this when I took it appart to put the parts on my new frame, and also the threads are not a standard pitch. I have most of the headset that came with it, the lock nut was destroyed while trying to get it off the damned thing (probably didn't help the threads any), seems to be a standard Shimano 105, older and super indexed (after fiddling around with it, I have found that the top cap will not screw onto any other forks, just the one it came on) I can throw it in, if you want it, according to Sheldon Brown, one can fix this problem by removing the ball bearing cage and filling in the spaces with more ball bearings (it has worked for me in the past). I have a spare fork that has some odd crown race sizing on it, but is the proper length and has a standard thread that I will throw in for free if you would like, it is chrome.
Now [B45£[/B] down from 75 for the Frame and Forks and 5 extra if you take the seat post too. Plus shipping from NL (16 pounds depending if you want to sign for it or not and if I can keep it under 5kg)
