100% refund or GTFO...

^ this. if he's lost the receipt from posting, he's lost the cash, not you.

Full refund: no question.
Even if you don't send something Recorded Delivery, you get a Proof of Postage (the receipt).
It is up to the seller to claim from the Post Office: how the fuck should you share the loss?

Thanks for the advice, I've linked him to this thread so hopefully we'll get something sorted.

Seller has agreed to give me a full refund at the end of the month when he's got the money together.
Cheers all,

Pah, not hard to guess who the seller is from the 'users viewing this thread'

Oh, he's gone :(

Update on the case discussed last page; he sent me an email a couple of hours ago telling me that the post office contacted him and told him that the package hasn't left the office yet. How would that even be possible, after three weeks?

Posties are shit.

Sorry this probably isn't the right place to ask this but in lack of a better thread; anyone on here know a Daniel Stuth, located in London? Him or someone imposing as him contacted me after seeing my WTB add here or on pedalroom and I ended up buying a Paul Donohue frameset (http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/paul-donohue-853-track-frame-fixed-gear-black-vvgc-with-njs-headset/1012522296), along with cranks and stem off of him.
Story - it's been 12 working days and I haven't received anything, longest I've waited for a package from the UK has been 5 days. He didn't seem sketchy at all (wrote in good english, provided me extra pictures of everything I asked) and answered my emails quickly at first but after the payment it's been a bit quiet. He won't answer what it was shipped through, but if it were shipped through Royal Mail by land (that might the cheapest option?), is there a chance the package might still arrive? At this point I'm thinking I'll give him a week more and then file a dispute via paypal. Any help is appreciated.
Here's his other ads on gumtree: http://www.gumtree.com/sellerads/1012522296
E: all the other ads disappeared after me posting this thread, still no answer to my email. I'm calling bullshit.

I would say bullshit too, he was contacted by the post office? Never heard of that. Or did he contact the post office? In that case request for the tracking number?
In any case, you have 28 days to file a PayPal dispute, make sure you dont let this lapse! Best of luck in getting your bike/money back.

No tracking number, according to him "the post office contacted him and he's going there on Wednesday to see what is wrong, apparently the package still hasnt left the royal mail office."
I guess we'll see what he comes up with on wednesday.

If he's smart, he'll blame it on magnets.

Those sneaky fuckers again? When will people learn?

It doesn't exactly help knowing that someone's blowing my hard-earned money on faygo and roofies.

I Donated £20 As That's All I've Got Right Now....
... and sold it for £35!
Reckon that £15 profit should go to the charity.

Beware of zygowski, awful trader. Agreed & confirmed to meet via many pms so he could buy my bag. He never turned up. I waited for more than half an hour. The line was dead on the number he gave me (Turned off perhaps?). I'd given him my mobile to contact if there were any problems. I never and still haven't received an explanation or apology. Wasted my sunny sunday evening. Avoid like the plague I say.
EVEN MORE INCENSED -> Zygowski has two sale threads on the go and has dibsed 5 items since pissing me about. wow.

Probably within the realms of "risks you take when trading with faceless people from a fixie forum" but still a nob move, and a reason people might want to think twice about buying/selling from him...
-
• #2571
Yeah I agree its the risk you take and it comes with the territory, that's why I'm not blaming myself or the forum.
My last 3 trading meets arranged through the classifieds have been complete windups accumulating to about 3-4 hours of my time wasted. Zygowski is the first that I have publicly exposed.
--> I'm not hung up on it, I've moved on in life haha... but maybe my above post was a little... whiny.
I think its important to flag this behaviour up though no? Otherwise whats the point in this thread?
-
• #2572
Absolutely agreed, that's why I said it was useful information for anyone researching a trader.
Name and shame the other 2 as well. There is no good reason people can't keep in contact and just generally not be dicks, even if it's a slightly informal trading method

Sent a couple of messages and no response, looks like he's probably stalling me. It really is a shame when you have obvious doubts, but despite that choose to hope for the best, then get proven wrong.
-
• #2574
Stalling you? Mate he's laughing in your face. The item hasn't been lost because he hasn't sent it in the first place, and he is banking on the fact that once you have sent him a couple of pm's, you will chalk it up to experience and forget all about it.

Name and shame pls.
'I've looked at the thread. I am really sorry that the saddle hasn't reached you. but it was sent on that Tuesday. I can't give you a full refund as I'll end up without the saddle and no money for it so it will be a loss ya know. I'll give you half of what you paid back as i can't really afford to make a bigger loss on it.'
For the sake of transparency this is the response. I've just replied. I feel like not enough consideration has gone towards the loss that I've made in not receiving what I paid for.
