have we discussed the anti semitic Yossi Benayoun chants yet ?
I have heard Benayoun booed for being a wrong substitution and crap and for guilt by association with Benitez. Booing him for these reasons is not anti semitic. Indeed it would be wrong to treat him differently because he was Israeli. I have not heard any anti semitic chants. That is not to say that there haven't been any but all I have heard and heard about are the complaints above. I have not booed Benayoun. I have expressed my disagreement with Benitez' substitutions.
I see Oliver Holt is making a big deal of the "Bonfire" song sung by England fans to Ferdinand. Again, although the person in that song is mixed race, there is nothing that I am aware of in that song that is racist. We sang that song about teachers and prefects when I was 7 in 1964. I cannot remember any of them being from diverse backgrounds. It is not a racist song. Again, one can disapprove of Ferdinand for what he has done and said. To treat him differently because of his racial background would be wrong.
