Then again, I like Carlton Kirby and no one else seems to.

Carlton Kirby's alright as a sidekick, I don't mind him at all.
Amongst other things, Quigley seems either deeply un-knowledgeable or patronising. He exclaimed something like "he's going for glory!" when Taborre was no more than 45 seconds off the front with 50km (and a decent climb) to go. You can tell he is/was an F1 commentator.
Also, he says "Giro d'Italia 2013" EVERY time he mentions the race, and never with the definite article, presumably because a press release told him that was the correct way to say it. "It's all action in Giro d'Italia 2013!" Oh, go away, you annoying man. Bring back Harmon ASAP.

I didn't mind Quigley that much except for his constant repetition of the phrase 'today's activities'.
-

The problem that's developed between Harmon and Kelly is that initially Harmon asked Kelly questions because he genuinely didn't know. Now that he knows a lot more, having asked Kelly questions, he can only ask leading questions to which Kelly can only reply by repeating the question. I find that much more irritating than the Quigley commentary.
Having said that, I watch the Giro in Italian, anyway.

Surely that way you miss Sean's cal-coo-lay-shuns?

^^ boast post
I'm turning the sound off and following the action via @ukcyclingexpert.

i've heard him say "cometh the hour cometh the man" far more than i would have thought possible.
i also find Kelly to be really hard to listen and find he makes almost any story dull (i can say that because im irish... a bit)

Kirby really annoys me, but I think thats more from having to listen to him at Le Mans than from cycling.
Much prefer Harmon to this guy, seems to actually give half a shit about the sport/care whats going on, whereas the commentary right now feels like dead air. Hell it was better when the commentary went out during the tour of flanders.

Well the commentator missed Wiggins going off the back, with a mechanical I assume, and the comPlete disappearance of Sky from the front
-
• #161
It takes, er....., such a long time ah... to finish... his sentences
-
• #162
Hard luck Di Luca, pipped by the other garishly fluoro team in the peloton
-
• #163
Fuck DiLuca and fuck this commentator calling him a 'controversial and colourful' character. Are we back to the days where commentators glossed over doping bans?
-
• #164
I think if he was still on the juice he would have been able to hold that gap

I missed this watching it live, it seems there was split and then a crash, and Wiggins was in the wrong bit of the split, so he loses 17 seconds. Sloppy or below-par, or plain back luck, but a painful blow nonetheless
-

below-par
-
• #167
Pretty tame climb to get gapped on....
-
• #168
Not getting gapped on the climb, but thinking days work is done before the finish line.
-
• #169
Why's Wiggins not given the same time given the crash that hed him up was inside 3k?
-
• #170
Because according to the transponder data he had already lost that time before the crash...

I don't think calling him a "cheating cunt" went down to well with the last guy..

Uran, Sky's new leader and will be battling with Wiggo and Froome for the yellow in France.

Crash didn't hold him up, he missed the split

Wiggins wants the Tour leadership decided on the road. Same for the Giro?

But he had a power meter?!?!?!
Dave Harmon has taken an extended break from Eurosport duties cos he's a bit burned out I think, but will be back for TDF.
