^ that's Zafferana – Rifugo Sapienza on Mt. Etna, Sicily (not my photo).
...and my climb of it here. I got good conditions for that ride. Still air and clear and bright, Enta was also very active – rumbling and growling as I climbed. I took my fixed bike but with a different rear wheel. The dinglespeed setup gave me 39x24 up and 44x18 for everything else (with a 28mm rear tyre) that was about right.

I was there a couple of months ago, it was still snowy.
I did se a guy climbing it on a black dolan PC, bullhorns and a front brake. Rep to him.

Sweet. Tips for elsewhere on the island to ride? I'll be going back.
I did the Linguaglossa climb just as fresh snow arrived. It was pretty cold for spring.

There were some really nice hilly routes near Agrigento with a decent road surface for the most part, I wish I could have stayed longer as it's a really lovely island.

+1.
Not yet sure where to visit next time so will bear that in mind. I think Ragusa/Modica will feature.

Also if you're back there during the snowy season here's what met me at the top...

The famous Elenith phone box. Taken on the descent of the Gamallt, it's the last climb before the half way point at Tregaron.
