  • Awww!

  • Hounds out for a stroll in the park, yesterday with the little man:

  • This is Alf, who may have watched 'Inception' recently..

  • The wolf and his favourite hobby

  • ^ I thought his favourite hobby was decimating the local squirrel population ;-)

  • ^ I thought his favourite hobby was decimating the local squirrel population ;-)

He's moved onto songbirds recently, but I think his laziness has taken the place of his hunting prowess. I caught him stalking a pigeon in the garden the other day, the pigeon flew off, he didn't notice and kept stalking thin air for about 3 minutes, before sitting up and looking around confused.

  • Sherlock the dog got in the bin on Monday and scoffed 4 melted mars bars that I had failed to turn into rice krispy cakes.

Not good. He did more than 10 poo's yesterday. Mars bar poo's.

Luckily he's just a bit poorly though. Nowt worse.

  • OMG I can't stop laughing...

  • Speaking of songbirds, we turned our bird cam on for the first time in a year today and got a little suprise

6 chicks counted sofar, look about a week old.
The box is out of reach of the wolf, but I'm nervous for the fledglings so will be making a high perch for them and moving the bird feeder closer to the box so they have the best chance.
If we manage it in time, we'll jack it into a computer and stream it for our own springwatch!

  • What did you guys do the first few times you let your cats out? I'm shit scared that Basil will get too excited exploring and not find his way back.

  • Just let my three out- they came back without having to do anything special.

  • Yup, we've let Bertie out for the first time today too...

Must be the good weather! :)

  • Nesbit, I remember Rosie (Tricitybendix) putting butter on the cats paws or something? To help them find their way back home?

  • Here's a picture of the zoo that lives at mine . My three Maine Coons , bottom one is the baby only 6 months old , gonna be a big boy .

That's probably what we'll end up doing. He's getting the snip next week, then I reckon we'll set him loose and see what happens (although just saying that sentence is a bit scary).

    Also: Awesome. Very jealous.

  • Ta , we also have a ragdoll from the same breeder as two of the Maine Coons . But she's a bit boring ......

  • Here's my pretty lady. I bought her a few years ago as a grown cat from a cattery. She was raised to breed cats with but she has a hereditary heart disease but is not effected by it herself. She laid kittens once and half of them died. She's not able to get kittens anymore.

    Soft kitty, warm kitty

    Little ball of fur

    Happy kitty, sleepy kitty

    Purr, purr, purr

  • Dress her up like that again an I'm calling the rspca

I think the motivation behind this is to make sure that the buttered-cat stops frequently (to lick it's paws) whilst going out into the new space in which it finds itself, the pause giving the cat time to remember where is has come from.

The underlying assumption being that the cat, outside in a strange place for the first time, will try to find its way back to its old, familiar area.

When we first let James out he buggered off for ages, but he did come back in the end.

The two girls spent ages on the balcony before roaming a bit further, but now run around the grounds quite happily.

  • Ejay, I didn't dress her up. I bought her from a cattery and they dressed her up for the picture. When I bought her I got a free bottle of cat perfume and a bottle of special hair conditioner for cats.

Too bad her collar is broken. It's a lady so a few years ago I bought this nice pink collar with fake diamonds. :P

Funny when I have a girl over and she looks at the collar. They always start laughing :P
