• My friend's family work in slaughterhouse back in Idaho.

You can guess the rest.

They butchered hitchhikers and served them up as burgers?

• A vegetarian-only pizzeria. In Harrow. Bit of a trek, but ...

• ^ Even I don't like pizza that much.

• I'll definitely go there sometime soon. It sounds great. Lots of vegan pizzas to choose from.

• Has it been recommended to you?

• Oh I see: "*New (sic) have been short listed as one of London's Top Veggie Restaurants by Jellied Eel magazine and are on the Veggieheaven.com top 100 for veggie food excellence!!"*

• I just read about it on quarrygirl (wildly enthusiastic). I also like their web-site.

• Update R.E. Bonnington Cafe; Anya's the one to look out for so far (still haven't tried other).

• I picked up some corn smut today from the Stoke Newington Farmers' Market and will cook it tomorrow. Just looking for recipes now. :)

• Ok, as discussed on the vegan thread, let's get a date sorted for pizza in Burgess Park. The date is largely in lulav and xtomorx's hands but how about 12 May (weather permitting)?

Also, planning a bit ahead, the Smithfield Nocturne is on Saturday 8 June, so could do lunch at one of the vegan friendly places round there and then get an afternoon/evening of cycling action. Runs from 4.30pm to 9.30pm. There is the Smithfield Tavern and Amico Bio right near the action, but I will have to check there's no disruption to their usual service that day.

• Sounds like a load of fiction to me. :)

• U bin Olivered!

I'm out till end of May but will check back.

This sounds, great, i live about 1 minute from this park so would be in. There is a great pizza restaurant called La Luna just passed my place, about 2 minutes walk away from walworth road entrance to Burgess Park.

Which would certainly be good for veggies, but for vegans, cant be sure.

• The recommendation on the other thread was for Village Pizza:

Seems to be the place for vegans!
Will have to take a look at the menu of the other place too.

• 12th of May sounds good, xtomorx says yes! But I need to check my rota for work, but could always meet you guys later. Lucyh also said she wanted in on the action but she is in Canada at the moment.

• 12th of may works for me.

• i'm in! 12th works for me.

incidentally, i think la luna has some vegan options - a friend and i have had vegetable pizza sans cheese (we were assured there was no dairy in the base) and the pasta (tomato and vegetable sauce) and the bruscetta. it's nice and authentic! so, you know, just in case we eat village pizza out of house and home, there's always la luna round the corner...! also a really nice thai place further up walworth road called mama thai. (it used to be the wimpy which is why the 'mama thai' sign looks suspiciously like the wimpy burger...)

• Were they too Wimpey to change it?

• Ok, what time this Sunday?

• Should we say about midday? Should us Northerners meet somewhere and ride down together? Last time Jamie and I went south of the river we got terribly lost!

• Where are we meeting? Burgess Park/Village Pizza?

I'm happy to act as a guide. I don't know South London that well, but I'm capable of finding Burgess Park or Village Pizza. :)

• Are you north of the river Oliver? We (Jamie + I and anyone else NOR) could meet you somewhere north/central at say 11? Should give us plenty of time to get to Village Pizza. Is that alright with everyone?
