Those three will be at or near the top of most people's lists but that does also mean more expensive and long waiting lists. There are others in London who will do a good job. Do you just want a simple, clean mandala or part of something a bit different or a larger pattern?

Kali at Never Say Die down in Croydon is worth a look and will have less of a waiting list, although one of this month's tattoo magazines (forget which) did a big profile on him so that may be changing a bit.

  • Eric the viking in New cross does class work

  • Oliver mackintosh at Frith Street is doing my mandalas, he's a nice guy and talented too.

I agree with all of the above, I would add Matt Black, Touka Voodoo, Laurent Maina to the list (all work at Divine Canvas) I was in with Matt Yesterday working on a large complex mandala (black & grey)

Oh & Boff Konkers does hand poked work (also working at King of Hearts)

  • Mandala tattoos in the 2010s = tribal tattoos in the 90s. Don't do it kids.

  • Wait, what? You mean tribal isn't rad any more? Got a tribal sleeve yesterday :-(

    Joking I'm not a cunt >>>>>>>>

    Prescient words

  • Good Mandalas look awesome but I think I agree with bleak and mecha they are a bit of a trend. Unless you're into the eastern meanings and stuff behind them I might stay away.

  • Do what you want, as long as you like it. Whatever you do, it will go in and out of fashion over time, so will alternate between attracting praise from idiots and scorn from pricks.

Oh purrrlease. As if 95% of tattoos aren't part of some trend or other. But there's nothing wrong with that in an honest world.

It's when you try to justify them with bullshit back-stories to make yourself seem interesting that it gets tiresome.

I feel that way a bit about people who get swastikas tattooed on them with the story about what they used to mean.

Yes thats what they meant, but in this part of the world, Western Europe, where we live, they mean something else.

  • I like my tattoos because I like the imagery, no bullshit back story needed. If you're getting tattooed to be fashionable then that's a hard thing to keep up with and you'll probably end up with a right mish mash of styles. If you have them and you're happy with them then fair enough, no need to be precious about it I reckon.

    Freaking class mate!
