  • Im no expert either, but I have the same clearence on one of my bikes (pelizzoli pista GP with campagnolo record crankset) and havent had any rubbing or problem yet.

  • Porn in the making.

  • Yup, it's getting there. Laced both wheels now so i have decide what tubes i'm going to get. I really like the tan-wall look on black rims, but it also makes the bike look a bit 'preserved'. Black tubes make it look more 'aggressive'..

    hmmmm... decisions decisions

  • Tan-wall bruv!

  • ^Look like the same wheels as I have on my Nag, defo not tan walls, tough guy all blacks.

  • Nice build!

Saw a bennotto 3000 (?) track frameset up for sale in that shop in Hackney Wick, but the price he has on the ticket is actually only 1/4 of what he wants for it, which is erm, weird.
But yeah they are a lush colour

Truth. Looks great on that Pelizolli.

  • Almost done, still searching for NOS black anodized Ale toeclips and need new tires.
I like the tanwalls, but going for the tough guy all blacks look.

  • Very nice:)

  • Amazing.
    Proper picture too please...

The saddle is a pre-cinelli Unicanitor mod. 50.

    Selling them?

Those tubes are very cheap Vittoria Rally's, with one of the two being punctured. You are probably better off buying them new :)

  • Really lovely restoration! You did a great job on that Benotto.

That is a 3000, it used to be mine...Diamond chain stays, chrome benotto track forks and rear triangle, it's fucking loooong story...I so didn't wat to part with it...F*ckery...I haven't seen another 3000 track frame...Benotto track frames are few and far between...and 3000's insanely rare...so I'm fucking loving this build...I think this is a 2700..or thereabouts...I've seen a track frame that was special order or similar, he'd bougth it from a team member...and also, one of the dutch 'Maestro's' that owns quiet a few merckx bikes, has a molteni orange merckx with diamond stays...which he thought was made for Eddie maybe by benotto...?
    anyhow...Chapeau...and much envy...;D...nice envy tho...not green eyed...
Every time I see champagne Bennies I'm 12 years old...watching the hell of the north with my cousins on VHS...that when the love affair started, that about the same time I saw my Joe Waugh too...
The guy round the corner from my mom had just had that and his Woodrup built for him...I wish I had bought the woodie too..its was also 653 tho made the Joe feel like lead...

    This!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and Ps...I'm not trying to be a pain and you look very capable, tho if you want someone to cut the forks.,..I've done so so many and can cut perfect right angles with a hacksaw. It's just an offer, and I'm drooling over this bike...really...I'll leave it at that...;D

Will do!! After installing all the last bits :) Toe clips, different chain, straighten the wheels and glue the tires.

Not sure what u mean by 'cutting the forks with a hacksaw', maybe it's my complete lack of sense in how to treat the forks of vintage track bike.. but my gut tells me to leave them as they were made :) I can live with the huge clearance on the front wheel.

Thanks for the offer though and your kind words about the bike :) A shame you had to sell yours.

Aye saw it, and saw £150 dangling off it and got a slight boner, turns out he actually wants £600 for it, which its probably worth, but more to someone who understands what they are about and appreciates, vs. the average east end fixie skidder, yeah maybe not ideal for them, and sacrilege, poor frame!

  • Gorgeous bike!

  • congrats on the first post!

  • The bottom bracket fits pretty good, very smooth. It is a 68-p-120 axle,

is your bottom bracket italian thread ? if so it should be 70mm wide

the code on the axle says: (68)=BSA-(p)=pista-(120)rear spaceing

if i am guessing right you might run a campa bsa pista axle in italian BB shells, this could be the cause of the missing 2mm on your crank-frame clearence.

the axle code for italian thread shoud say "70-p-120"

just a guess, it might be wrong as well
